This data usability summary presents the results of the data review and
' validation process. SAIC-Benham collected environmental'samples on behalf of Chevron
Environmental Management Company to delineate the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum-
affected groundwater. Groundwater and water-matrix quality control (QC) samples were
' collected on January 5 and 6, 2010. The following samples were collected:
• MW-4-W-100106
' • MW-7-W-100105
• MW-8-W-100105
• MW-9-W-100106
' • MW-10-W-100105
• MW-10-WD-W-100105 (field duplicate)
• MW-11-W-100105
' • MW-12-W-100105
• MW-12-W-100105MS (matrix spike sample)
• MW-12-W-100105MSD (matrix spike duplicate sample)
' • MW-14-W-100105
• QA-Tubing-R-100105 (equipment rinsate blank)
' Lancaster Laboratories, Inc. (Lancaster)performed all the analyses on the samples. The data
were reported in laboratory report 1177787. Lancaster is certified by the State of California
through the Department of Health Services to perform environmental analyses.
' The samples were analyzed for the following constituents:
• Polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)by United States Environmental Protection
' Agency(EPA) Method SW8270C with large-volume injection.
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPHd), carbon range Clo-C25,by EPA
Method SW8015 modified; a silica gel clean-up procedure based on USEPA Method
' SW3630 was also performed on samples with TPHd detections to remove non-target
biogenic compounds.
The data were evaluated in general conformance to the requirements of project objectives
specified in the following documents:
• Quality Assurance and Quality Control: Sample Collection, Handling, and Analysis
Guidelines; ChevronTexaco Historical Pipeline Portfolio Sites, California, April 2007.
• SAIC Technical Procedure TP-DM-300-7,Data Validation.
' • SAIC Technical Procedure TP-DM-300-14,Evaluation of Field and Analytical Data.
C-1
1
