File No. 20-3937-01
June 21, 1996
relative groundwater elevations with respect to mean sea level or a local benchmark
by subtracting them from the surveyed casing elevations.
The resulting groundwater elevations will be used to assess the direction of the
groundwater gradient at the time of sampling. This information can then be used to
assess which wells represent upgradient and which wells represent downgradient
groundwater conditions.
Approximately forty-eight (48) hours after the riew well is developed, three to five
well volumes will be purged, and samples wi11 be collected from the wells, as
described in Attachment A. The three monitoring well groundwater samples will be
submitted to a State certified laboratory for the following analyses:
• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons Purgeable (Gasoline Range) by EPA Method
8015M/5030 [TPH-G]
• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes by EPA Method 8020/5030
[BTEX]
• Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (Fuel Fingerprint) by EPA Method
8015M
• Halogenated Volatile rganlcs by EPN Method 80.10[
• Dibromochloropropane (DBCP) by EPA Method,504 f.
The samples will be submitted for analyses :on a normal laboratory schedule
requiring approximately two weeks (10 working days) for completion unless the
optional rush analytical turnaround is requested by the client at an additional charge.
Task E04 -Soil Sampling for Asbestos
Four soil samples would be obtained from just inside the property lira near the
railroad tracks. All samples would be obtained from the surface soil. The four
soil samples would be submitted for polarized light microscopy (PLM) analysis
for asbestos.
I_askE05__- Reporting
Upon completion of the field activities and receipt of the analytical results, a
report of findings- for the drilling of the soil borings, the monitoring well
sampling, and the sampling near the railroad tracks will be prepared for client and
agency review. The report will include:
20-3937-OIIMP960068 Page 4 of 10 - 01996,Kleirifelder, Inc.
KLEINFELDER 2825 East Myrtle Street,Stockton,CA 95205-4794 (209)948-1345 (209)948-0621 fax
