Among the proposed
actions is the improvement of vehicle turning radius from North Ripon Road and will require the
Department to acquire the property on the northwest corner, APN 203-070-028. The Phase One
investigation determined that the property was a former filling station, and two preliminary site
investigations were conducted at the property. The first consisted of a geophysical investigation,
followed by a soils and groundwater investigation. The soils and groundwater investigation report is
enclosed for your review and evaluation.
The deadline for property acquisition for the proposed project is February 1, 2003. It is incumbent that
if clean up is required, agreement between the owners and the Department regarding this action must be
reached prior to that date. A copy of the report has already been provided to the property owners.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Michael Robinson at (209) 948-7399.
Sincerely,
LISA CATHCART- NDALL, Senior
Central Sierra Environmental Branch
Enclosure
"Caltrans improves mobility across California"
