1.0 Introduction
This Workplan has been prepared by IT Corporation (IT) to present the scope of work for a
preliminary site investigation at the intersection of State Route (SR) 120 and North Ripon Road,
San Joaquin County, California (Figure 1). The property is located at Post Mile (PM) 9.82 of SR
120.
This work will be conducted on behalf of the California State Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) and in general accordance with Caltrans Contract 43AO078,Task Order No. 10-
0A7401-ME, Expenditure Authorization Number 10-OA7401 (Caltrans, 2001).
Caltrans proposes shoulder widening and intersection improvements at selected locations of SR
120 including the aforementioned project area. The purpose of this investigation is to determine
the presence or absence of hazardous concentrations of fuel hydrocarbons within the
aforementioned project area where soil excavation may occur during construction activities
(Caltrans, 2001). All work will be conducted within Caltrans right-of-way.
is
SA(YDP-N.\rnncfpMrojecrMM347Mwkpin&hsp\SR 120 wp.doc 1-1
225102
