TAIL-GATE PRE-FIELD BRIEFING AND SAFETY PLAN <br /> Fischer Family Trust <br /> 7327 East Orford Road <br /> Stockton,CA 95215 <br /> Purpose of Field Work and Site Details <br /> 1. Review purpose and scope of work: soil and groundwater sampling. <br /> Most using hand augers (B-1 to B-8). Others deeper using Geoprobe 5400 rig (13- <br /> 9, B-10 to 20 feet). <br /> 2. Review anticipated contamination and concentrations: <br /> Unknown. The soil and water samples will be analyzed for the following: <br /> Pesticides, hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds, semivolatile organic <br /> compounds, heavy metals, including lead, arsenic and others, nitrates, and fecal <br /> coliform. <br /> 3. Review location of former tanks, known depth to water, flow <br /> direction: See map <br /> 4. Locate emergency shut-off switch <br /> 5. Locate water shut-off valve <br /> Safety Plan <br /> 1. YES: Review chemical hazards (PELs) and exposure limiting controls: <br /> • air in breathing zones will be monitored (Level C : OVs > 300 ppm) <br /> • no eating, drinking, smoking and chewing while in the work area <br /> • work gloves should be worn in the work area <br /> 2. YES: dentify physical hazards: <br /> • traffic: not an issue <br /> • burns: from heated parts of Geoprobe <br /> • noise (CAL-OSHA PEL is 90 dB); from Geoprobe <br /> • visibility, hearing and dexterity (may be impaired by PPE): Geoprobe <br /> issues. <br /> 3. YES: Be aware of heat stress if temperature >80 dgrees farenheit <br /> 4. YES: Identify possible fire hazards and electrical hazards <br /> 5. YES: Review PPE: Level D to be worn at all times <br /> • steel toe boots -yes <br /> • safety glasses -yes <br /> • hard hat-yes <br /> • long pants -yes <br /> • disposable nitrile gloves-yes <br /> • long sleeves may be required: no <br /> 6.NO: Modified Level C PPE should be available at all times: <br /> 1 <br />
