E: mkith@sicehd.com
From: Buehler,Alan@Waterboards [mailto:Alan.Buehler@Waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent:Thursday, March 07, 2019 1:59 PM
To: Lor Xiong [EH] <Ixiong@sicehd.com>; Daniel Villanueva <dvillanueva@advgeoenv.com>
Cc: Michael Kith [EH] <mkith @sicehd.com>
Subject: RE: 2122 S Airport Way.
Lor—
I spoke with Daniel. The well is fine to be installed with up to 25 feet bgs, though this can be shortened if lithologic
conditions observed during installation allow. The longer screen was proposed due to a potential clay layer, and need to
both reach sufficient GW for sampling as well as have the top of screen remain above the water level and not be
submerged.
AL2 vi, M. gLcM ler, P.G.
Engineering Geologist I UST Enforcement Unit
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
California Professional Geologist#9340
11020 Sun Center Drive, Suite 200, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
Phone 916.464.4615 1 Fax 916.464.4704
alan.buehler@waterboards.ca.gov
pF CAUF09y/q
+r •
 o
m
Q [
O
Z
Q..
DUAL4t
From: Lor Xiong [EH] <Ixiong@sicehd.com>
Sent:Thursday, March 7, 2019 9:55 AM
To: Daniel Villanueva <dvillanueva@advgeoenv.com>
Cc: Michael Kith [EH] <mkith @sicehd.com>; Buehler,Alan@Waterboards<Alan.Buehler@Waterboards.ca.gov>
Subject: RE: 2122 S Airport Way.
Daniel,
I understand that it is a "proposed" screening interval, that you cannot commit to the screening level, and that it can be
adjusted in the field. I spoke to Alan Buehler yesterday and he indicated that 25ft of screen is not acceptable. Please
confirm with Alan Buehler that he is okay with installing a screening interval that is greater than 20ft, in an event that
the lithology indicates the screen must be more than 20ft. Please send me an email to confirm the screening interval.
Please send me an addendum to the work plan and well diagram if an 25ft screen interval is not acceptable.
2
