<br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste.
<br /> OBSERVATION: Hazardous waste containers were observed on-site with incomplete labeling. The containers
<br /> were:
<br /> 1. A 55-gallon black steel drum of waste oil in the Specialization Shop was missing the words"Hazardous Waste,"
<br /> name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, and accumulation start date(see photo IMG
<br /> 0817).
<br /> 2.An open 5-gallon black container containing a used paper oil filter and standing oil, located in the Specialization
<br /> Shop,was missing the words"Hazardous Waste," name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical
<br /> state, composition (contents), and accumulation start date(IMG 0817, 0819)
<br /> 3.A 55-gallon black steel drum of used paper, plastic, and metal oil filters, located outside and east of the Truck
<br /> Shop,was missing the address of the generator, hazardous properties, and physical state(IMG 0863-5).
<br /> 3.A container storing oily absorbent pads and what appeared to be a used plastic oil filter, located outside and
<br /> east of the Truck Shop,was labeled as hazardous waste, but was missing the address of the generator, hazardous
<br /> properties, and physical state(IMG 0866-8).
<br /> 4.A container storing used oil, located outside and east of the Truck Shop,was missing the words"Hazardous
<br /> Waste", name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, and accumulation start date(IMG
<br /> 0875-7).
<br /> 5.A container storing used oil, located inside the Track Assembly and Warranty Shop areas,was missing the
<br /> words"Hazardous Waste,"name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, and
<br /> accumulation start date(IMG 0931).
<br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: the
<br /> words"Hazardous Waste", name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, composition
<br /> (contents), accumulation start date
<br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately label the containers as required for hazardous waste. Provide a corrective
<br /> action statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
<br /> (EHD)within 30 days.
<br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II.
