File No. 20-3978-01.W20 AH KLEINFELDER February 4, 1997 Laboratory Analysis Each of the soil and water samples selected for quantitative analysis will be submitted under chain-of-custody control to Sequoia Analytical Services (Sequoia) of Sacramento, California. Sequoia is certified by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control to perform the requested analysis. Two soil samples and one groundwater sample from each boring location will be submitted for analysis. The samples will be selected based upon field observations, qualitative field screening results, and the depth in the boring. It is anticipated that samples will be analyzed on a normal laboratory turnaround schedule, which usually requires up to 10 working days for receipt of analytical data. The soil samples will be analyzed for Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as diesel fuel and motor oil. Report Preparation Upon completion of the soil sampling and our receipt and review of the analytical results, a report will be prepared for client review. The report will include: • A description of field activities, observations, and protocols; • Lithologic logs and, if appropriate, interpreted geologic cross sections; • Tabularized results of soil sample analysis with copies of certified analytical laboratory results with chain-of-custody documentation; • Conclusions and recommendations. All information gathered during the study by Kleinfelder is considered confidential and will be released only upon written authorization from the client or as required by law. California law requires a person to inform the state if a situation is encountered that can be considered an immediate endangerment to the public's health or welfare and/or to the environment. SCHEDULE Kleinfelder could initiate our activities within 3 to 5 working days of receiving written authorization to proceed. Our report will be submitted for client review within 10 working days of receiving analytical results. Verbal results will be provided upon our receipt of the analytical data.
