The wells were abandoned in <br /> accordance with the procedures and principals of the June 1991 revisions of the <br /> California Well Standards published by the California Department of Water <br /> Resources. Figure 1, attached shows the general area of the site. The precise location <br /> of the monitoring wells is shown on the attached Figure 2, Site Plan. <br /> The procedure used in the abandonment of the well was: <br /> 1. The waterproof steel locking vaults were removed. <br /> 2. The PVC well casing and blank riser were pulled from each well. <br /> 3. A 10 inch diameter hollow stem auger was used to drill down the <br /> space left by the casing removal to remove the cement sanitary seal, <br /> and the sand filter pack.
