I will need additional time to perform cost analysis of the
additional work and remediation options discussed during our meeting, therefore, I am
requesting an extension of the addendum's submittal date from January 1, 2006, to April
1, 2006.
It is my understanding that the addendum will include the following items:
Background total dissolved solid (TDS) levels for the Ripon area. Select
monitoring wells in the Nestles' monitoring-well network will be sampled for
TDS during the first-quarter 2006 monitoring event to obtain this data.
• Onsite soil TDS data to evaluate the soil's contribution(if any) to TDS
concentrations in groundwater(L&A will submit a work plan for performing
this scope of work by February 1, 2006).
An evaluation of process chemistry changes (if any) that could effectively and
affordably reduce bicarbonate concentrations in plant influent or effluent.
• A revised analysis of treating plant process water by Reverse Osmosis (RO)
technology by determining the cost to dispose RO brine in a deep injection
well(s).
• Propose new effluent TDS levels and a compliance time table for achieving
the 450 mg/L TDS goal for plant effluent.
_--------_.
2001 Market Street Roorn 523 • Redding, California 96001 • (530)744-9703 • fax (530)244-5021 www.lwrnc.com_
