MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM -4- <br /> SIMPSON INVESTMENT COMPANY <br /> SIMPSON PAPER COMPANY <br /> RIPON MILL <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The exposed portion of the surface impoundment shall be inspected monthly. <br /> Monthly inspection reports shall be submitted with quarterly monitoring reports <br /> and shall include a description of the condition of the wastewater management <br /> facilities and any changes in appearance from the previous month. <br /> GROUND WATER MONITORING <br /> The water level in each monitoring well shall be measured quarterly. Data from <br /> water level measurements shall be used to construct ground water contour maps <br /> showing the direction of ground water flow in the aquifer beneath the Ripon Mill <br /> property. Ground water contour maps shall be submitted with the quarterly <br /> monitoring reports. Contour maps shall be constructed using feet above mean sea <br /> level . <br /> The ground water monitoring program should include cluster Wells TH-5, TH-6, TH- <br /> 7, TH-8, OB-1 , and OB-17 and Wells TH-1 , TH-2, TH-4, Well 4, M11C, OB-2, OB-5, <br /> OB-13, and OB-17. <br /> Ground water at each monitoring well shall be analyzed for pH, Electrical <br /> Conductivity, water level (above mean sea level ) , and turbidity in the field. <br /> Quarterly laboratory tests shall be made on samples from each well . Parameters <br /> to be tested are: Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) , chloride, sulfate, nitrate and <br /> sodium. All laboratory parameters shall be reported in milligrams per liter. <br /> Field and laboratory tests shall be reported in the quarterly monitoring report. <br /> Electrical Conductivity results shall be submitted on a site contour map. All <br /> parameters shall be graphed so as to show historical trends at each well . <br /> Prior to construction, plans and specifications for additional ground water <br /> monitoring wells shall be submitted to Board staff for review and approval . <br /> The Discharger shall implement the above monitoring program as of the date of <br /> this Order. <br /> WILLIAM H.
