Is there enough detailed information in the RWO so that you <br /> can set water quality protection standards as per subchapter <br /> 15, section 2552? <br /> 7. a. Background water quality for an indicator parameter of waste <br /> constituent in GW: <br /> i. Based on quarterly sampling of wells upgradient from the <br /> WMU for one year <br /> ii. Analysis shall account for measurement errors in sampling <br /> and analysis <br /> iii. Analysis shall account for seasonal fluctuations in <br /> background water quality (if expected to affect <br /> concentration of hazardous constituent) <br /> b. If verification monitoring is in effect 7a can be waived and <br /> instead use appropriate water quality data <br /> NOTE: Non-upgradient wells may be used if: <br /> 1. Hydrogeologic conditions do not allow upgradient <br /> sampling <br /> OR . <br /> 2. .Sampling at other wells will provide a <br /> representative indication of background <br /> water quality <br /> c. When determining a background value for each indicator <br /> parameter or waste constituent: <br /> i. Use a minimum of 1 sample from each background well <br /> ii. If only 1 background well, 4 samples shall be obtained <br /> by splitting the sample into 4 aliquots and conducting <br /> a separate analysis for each aliquot <br />
