Abrahamson: <br /> LODI <br /> EDWARD MAGOON A recent inspection of your Ripon plant by District <br /> STOCKTON <br /> CHESTER MILLER personnel has indicated that the new power co-generator <br /> TRACY is now on line . The inspection also revealed an excessive <br /> CHRISTOPHER K. ELEY amount of water developed as a by-product flowing <br /> LEGAL ADVISOR <br /> uncontrolled into an area adjacent to your waste ponds . <br /> As the district has indicated in past contacts , this <br /> condition is conducive to mosquito Breeding which is <br /> defined as a public nuisance by the Health and Safety <br /> Code . <br /> The following conditions should be considered for long <br /> term storage of water so as to prevent mosquito breeding : <br /> 1 . Water should be stored in ponds with weed-free <br /> levees . <br /> 2 , Water should be maintained at a depth of at least <br /> three feet so as to discourage weed growth and odor <br /> problems , <br /> 3 . If water is applied to fields for percolation and <br /> evaporation, it should not be allowed to stand longer <br /> than 72 hours . This will prevent mosquito emergence <br /> and reduce complaints from neighboring properties . <br /> 4 . Service roads for vector control and maintenance <br /> vehicles should be maintained at all times . <br />
