CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD <br /> CENTRAL VALLEY REGION <br /> 3201 "S" STREET <br /> SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA 95816 <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> an <br /> Notice of Application for Renewed Waste Discharge Requirements <br /> (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit) <br /> for <br /> SIMPSON PAPER COMPANY, RIPON MILL <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> The Simpson Paper Company has applied for the renewal of their National Pollutant <br /> Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit. The proposed requirements for their <br /> facility allow the discharge of secondarily treated industrial wastewater and <br /> stormwater runoff to the Stanislaus River, or the discharge of effluent to company <br /> owned property for land disposal and irrigation purposes. The proposed requirements <br /> are the same as those in the existing permit. <br /> On the basis of preliminary staff review; including- the distribution of draft <br /> requirements to interested parties for review and comment, and application of <br /> lawful standards and regulations, the California Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board, Central Valley Region, proposes to issue waste discharge requirements. <br /> Persons wishing to comment upon or object to the proposals are invited to submit <br /> same in writing to the Regional Board no later than 10 January 1983. All comments <br /> or objections received prior to the above date will be considered in drafting the <br /> waste discharge requirements. If no objections are received, the Regional Board <br /> will issue discharge requirements after a public hearing which will be held as <br /> follows: V <br /> DATE: 28 January 1983 <br /> TIME: 10:00 a.m. <br /> PLACE: City Council Chambers <br /> 1501 Truxton Avenue <br /> Bakersfield, California <br /> Interested persons are invited to attend to express their views on the issues <br /> relating to the above waste discharge. Oral statements will be heard, but for the <br /> accuracy of the record, all important testimony should be submitted in writing. <br /> The report of waste discharge, related documents, the Board's proposed requirements, <br /> and all comments and petitions received may be inspected and copied at the Regional <br /> Board office, . 3201 "S" Street, Sacramento, California (916) 445-0270, at any time <br /> between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. , Monday through Friday. <br /> Please bring the foregoing to the attention of a y -persons known to you who would <br /> be interested in this matter. <br /> WILLIAM S.
