. March 9, 2006
L
x River Paper Company Page 2 of 2
ponse to RW )CB Lette
also requests the submittal of a work plan for property abandoning and replacing well
OB-5 by April 15, 2(X)6.
Per our conversation, the 3rd-quarter 2005 report does not state that the well OB-5 was
destroyed, only inaccessible. OB-5 was damaged by the City of Ripon when they lowered
the ground surface in the vicinity of OB-5 by approximately five feet, to install a bike
path. Subsequently, the well was repaired and sampled during the 4th-quarter 2005
groundwater-monitoring event.
Item 3: "Field data sheets provided in the monitoring reports are overly simplified.
Purge quantities of well water and disposition of the purge water are inadequately
documented."
The field sheets will be modified to include the diameter and depth of each well, the
volume of water purged from each well, and where and/or how the purged water is
disposed. The new field sheets will be included in the 2nd-quarter 2006 groundwater-
monitoring report.
It was a pleasure talking with you and I am looking forward to working with you in the
future. Please call me at(530) 244-9703 if you have any questions regarding this letter.
Sincerely,
David L.
