REPORT OF WASTE DISCHARGE- APPENDIX D
Diamond Pet Food Processors of Ripon,LLC June 30,2011
Report of Waste Discharge—Antidegradation Analysis Page 1 of 14
INTRODUCTION
This document is an Antidegradation Analysis for dispersal of wastewater from the proposed
Diamond Pet Food Processors of Ripon, LLC (Diamond), and the adjacent Cogeneration Plant,
Ripon, California(Figure 1). It is attached to the Report of Waste Discharge (ROWD) for the
Project as Appendix D. Note that figures referenced here in the Antidegradation Report refer to
fifzures in the main body of the ROWD, following the ROWD text.
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB) staff requested submittal of a
ROWD and preparation of an Antidegradation Analysis to describe the wastewater discharge that
will occur from operation of the Diamond Plant and analyze the potential impacts. CVRWQCB staff
specifically requested analyses of(1) the capacity of the ponds at the site to accommodate the
increased flows from expansion and(2) the water-quality impacts from the increased flow.
Figures 1 and 2 show the Project location and a site map. The Project proponent is:
Diamond Pet Food Processors of Ripon, LLC
Attn: Mr. Mark Schell
103 North Olive/P.O. Box 156
Meta, MO 65058
(573) 229-4203
Wastewater discharge will be from manufacturing of pet foods, cooling-tower blowdown from the
adjacent cogeneration facility. Table D-2 (page 9) shows the predicted wastewater and blowdown
volumes and quality. More detail on wastewater flow and characterization, and the manufacturing
process, is presented in the main text of the ROWD.
010070.00, Task I Lawrence&Associates
w:I clients)diamond pet foods1010107.00-ripon rowdldiamondpet_rowdjune2011_draft.docx
