nF .
1860 EAST HAZELTON AVENUE
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95205
TELEPHONE (209) 468-3913
June 7, 1989
Mr. Chandler Martin
San Joaquin County Planning Division
1810 East Hazelton Avenue t `4
Stockton, CA 95205 /V
Re: SA-89-42 (Lucchetti) yf Yt
Impact Area: Stockton Metropolitan Airport ►' f J''
Dear Mr. Martin:
Thank you for referring this pre-application for a Site Approval for an auto restoration facility
with accessory sales and towing.
The parcel is located at the south side of Mariposa Road, 1000 feet northwest of Carpenter
Road, East Stockton. The address is 4300 Mariposa Road. This is approximately 13,000 feet
north of the main runway at Stockton Metropolitan Airport, in an overflight area for commer-
cial aircraft. It is under the Conical imaginary surface in the Area of Influence of Stockton
Metropolitan Airport.
The Airport Land Use Plan states that in the Conical Imaginary surface:
Dumps, landfills and water retention ponds are permitted only if they do not present a bird
hazard to aircraft.
Reflective materials are not permitted to be used in structures or signs to avoid distracting
pilots during the critical approach or departure phases of flight.
No radio transmissions are allowed which would interfere with aircraft communication or
navigation equipment.
Recommendation
Staff finds that this proposed Site Approval is in conformance with the Airport Land Use
Plan, provided any roofing materials used are non-reflective to minimize glare to pilots using
the runway. Galvanized roofing is not to be used, while painted metal is approved.
Should you have any cuestions in this: matter, please contact Mr. Robert Van Rooyen of my
staff.
Sincerely yours,
PETER D.
