Stockton Gas Load Return to Compliance
Attachment 1
Item #103
The sand sent out of Stockton Gas Load is generated by our paint crew. In the past they had sampled the
items or area before the sandblasting operation, then placed the sand in the drum and labeled
according to the analytical results. Much of their sand blast work is in non-hazardous locations. If the
location tests positive for lead or asbestos they generally remove the entire items whole. This sand is
generated by a large outdoor sand blast unit not a recycle cabinet. In general, a large amount of sand is
used for a small amount of rust or paint. In the past, if they sandblasted rust it was sent out as non-
hazardous(the drum in question). If they sand blasted paint it was sent out as Hazardous sandblast
media containing lead to be safe.As a result of this inspection, PG&E will be performing more testing of
the sand from our sandblast operations, so we can better characterize our waste from this location in
the future.
Item#303
Old eye wash station has been replaced with new eye wash station.
r '
n; H
d
