Baker, Lydia
From: Mike Ubick <mubick@PACIFIC.EDU>
Sent: Thursday, April 23, 2020 1:27 PM
To: Baker, Lydia
Subject: Pacific - Update on #102
Attachments: Pacific - Lab Results for Oil and Metal Fines.pdf
Lydia:
Attached is the lab testing of the metal fines and the transformer oil. The metal fines are being collected and disposed
of with our Lab Trash (already classified as hazardous waste).
For the transformers, disposal arrangements have been made, but work with the vendor has been delayed and is
expected to be completed sometime after July 1.
As for the refrigerant in the mini frig, yes we remove all refrigerant from appliances before disposal. We have 6
individuals with Universal EPA certifications. All refrigerant is removed by them unless it too large of a quantity, and
then a vendor(Rapid Recovery) is used to handle it. When our tanks are full we bring in Rapid Recovery to empty all
tanks and move to their facility for proper disposal.
Thank you.
Mike Ubick, CSP, RSO
Assistant Director, Environmental Health and Safety
Enterprise Risk Management, Division of Business & Finance
UNIVI.R5TTY OF THE
PACIFIC
3601 Pacific Avenue I Stockton, CA 95211
phone. 209.946.7645 1 ERM main line. 209.932.3011 1 fax 209.954.2806
email: mubick@pacific.edu
From: Baker, Lydia <Ibaker@sjgov.org>
Sent: Friday, April 3, 2020 4:04 PM
To: Mike Ubick<mubick@PACIFIC.EDU>
Subject: Return to Compliance-3601 Pacific Avenue
Hello Mike,
I am following up on the RTC for UOP main campus.
