i <br /> COMPRESSED GAS CYLINDERS <br /> o Required: Know & understand the properties and <br /> safety precautions of the gas before using or moving -= - <br /> the cylinders. <br /> o Gas cylinders, equipment and large containers should all <br /> be moved by proper methods: appropriate cart, dolly, or <br /> hand truck. _ <br /> o Must be secured to sturdy structure when stored. ■■w■ <br /> o Caps used for valve protection must be kept on at all <br /> times except when cylinder is in use. <br /> Cylinders should be stored in well-ventilated areas away _ <br /> from flames, sparks, electric circuits, or other source of <br /> heat or ignition. <br /> o Full & empty cylinders should be stored separately and Ebel <br /> identified by signs to prevent confusion . <br /> o Do not attempt to attach or disconnect a regulator = _ <br /> unless you are trained to do so. <br /> o Top 3 OSHA cylinder violations: <br /> • Unsecured cylinders <br /> • Cylinders stored without protective caps <br /> • Non-compactible gases (i.e. hydrogen & oxygen) stored <br /> together <br />
