Analytical table and
concentration map. Both show presently that the downgradient well MW-7 has the highest
concentration. This well has always had anomalously high values. This well is on the
property we need access so that we can perform the investigation proposed last year.
According to the county assessor, this property was the site of a gasoline service station
and garage up into the 1970-s. MW-7 was installed as a downgradient well for the Ranch
Market site and not to investigate this property. It was unknown at that time that the
property used to be a gasoline station. It is interesting to note that the assessors maps
indicate a tank which was subsequently covered by an additional to the building. It is
unknown whether the tank was removed back then.
The intent of the additional investigation is to, 1) define the subsurface stratigraphy in
enough detail to explain whether we are dealing with one long pencil shaped plume or two
plumes, one for each gas station, and 2) gain information for a possible ORC type
injection program at Ranch Market to remediate the proper contaminant layers.
Our investigative approach, which was approved by the county last year, is to conduct a
Membrance Interface Probe by direct push for stratigraphic control and to take water
samples at TD. This is more fully explained in the workplan of last year.
The First quarter report is finished and undergoing review. All wells were samples, where
last time only the drinking water wells were sampled.
Rick Dreessen
Senior Geologist
Geocon Consultants, Inc.
1
