Item No.
PC: 1-16-86
VR-86-2
Page 5
REFERRALS AND PUBLIC COMMENTS
Referrals were sent on November 13 , 1985, and responses were
requested by December 11, 1985.
Local Health District (response 11-27-85 ) :
If approved, the subsequent division of land will require a per-
colation test for Parcel A and must meet the requirements of San
Joaquin County Ordinance No. 549.
Woodbridge Irrigation District (response 12-9-85 ) :
"It is noted that the westerly and southwesterly line of the
development borders Woodbridge irrigation District' s canal. This
particular canal is the main canal carrying all of the water that
is diverted to all of that area south of Morse Road, The canal
proper is approximately thirty-six feet in width, and carries
water of a depth of about seven feet.
"The placing of homes immediately adjacent to the canal creates a
highly undesirable situation. By the means of this letter and at
the direction of the Board of Directors of this District, we are
lodging a protest against the project as delineated on the ten-
tative map.
"In the event the proposed development for single family
dwellings is approved, because of the increase in population into
the proximity of the canal, we respectfully request that your
department require an impenetrable barrier be provided by the
developer along the property line separating the home owners from
the Woodbridge Irrigation District right of way. We would suggest
the means of accomplishing this would be the installation of a
six-foot cyclone fence, set in concrete, and without gates or
other openings leading to the canal. "
Public Works Department (response) :
As of December 23 , 1985, the following have not responded:
Building Division Pacific Bell
Pacific Gas & Electric Co. Lodi School District
Woodbridge Fire District Supervisorial District 4
County Counsel
