=TSR_EP0006-COR - Regulated Waste Generation and Certification Core Training <br /> Course Information Safety Education &Training <br /> Teaching Org.Contact Debra Kidd, Ext. 2-0587 <br /> Summary <br /> This core-level course provides waste generators and others who have hazardous, radioactive,and hazardous and radioactive mixed waste management responsibilities instruction on the regulatory requirements and LLNL procedures <br /> pertaining to their responsibilities in the management of these wastes. (A generator is defined as any individual who handles the waste, makes waste determinations,participates in any emergency response activity associated with waste <br /> handling,or signs Waste Disposal Requisition(WDR). <br /> To receive credit for this training this core-course must be supplemented by attendance at one or more of the following two specific regulated waste modules: <br /> EP0006-HZ Hazardous Waste Module <br /> EP0006-RD Radioactive and Mixed Waste Module <br /> Objectives <br /> Upon completion of this course,the student will have the ability to: <br /> • Identify the constituents of their regulated waste, in accordance with the LLNL ES&H Manual,Waste Acceptance Criteria and the Radioactive Waste Program Certification and Quality Assurance Plan <br /> • Explain the regulated waste accumulation requirements, in accordance with federal&state regulations,and LLNL ES&H Manual <br /> • Explain the waste documentation process,in accordance with the LLNL ES&H Manual and Waste Acceptance Criteria <br /> • Dispose of their regulated wastes,in accordance with the LLNL ES&H Manual and Waste Acceptance Criteria <br /> • Identify the appropriate response to a regulated waste release, in accordance with LLNL Emergency Plan and Facility Specific Contingency Plans <br /> Required For Workers,and work/activity supervisors of workers,who are the designated Waste Accumulation Area (WAA)or Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA)Operators for hazardous, radioactive,and mixed waste; and/or who <br /> have signature authority on Waste Disposal Requisitions(WDRs). <br /> Required By DES-2755 Hazardous, Radioactive, Mixed, Universal, Biological, Office,and Shop Waste Management Program; PRO-2756 Hazardous, Radioactive and Mixed Waste Management,Satellite and Waste Accumulation <br /> Areas <br /> Repeat Frequency One Time Only <br /> Refresher None <br /> Prerequisites None <br />
