Laboratories a state certified <br /> hazardous waste laboratory, will perform the analysis. <br /> All removed soils will be placed on plastic sheeting, <br /> covered with the same and remain on site until <br /> laboratory results are received. Thereafter, a proposal <br /> for treatment or disposal of the excavated material will <br /> be prepared if appropriate. <br /> 3. Fortyeight hours subsequent to installation, a water <br /> sample will be collected from the monitoring well after <br /> purging a minimum of four well volumes (casing and sand <br /> pack ) . The well will be pumped until water pH, <br /> electrical conductivity and temperature have stabilized. <br /> The purged water will remain on site, in secured 55 <br /> gallon drums (DOT 17-E) until laboratory results are <br /> received. A proposal for the treatment or disposal of <br /> the water produced during well development and sampling <br /> will then be prepared if appropriate. Collection and <br /> preservation of the water sample will be in accordance <br /> with EPA protocol. Specific sampling procedures are <br /> outlined in WaterWork ' s groundwater sampling protocol <br /> (Appendix II ) . The water samples will be analyzed by <br /> B. C. Laboratories for chlorinated and aromatic <br /> hydrocarbons, and total recoverable petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons by EPA methods 601/602, respectively. <br /> 4. All site activities involving potential contact with <br /> hazardous materials will be conducted in accordance with <br /> WaterWork ' s Site Health and Safety Plan (Appendix III ) . <br /> 5. A Problem Assessment report will be prepared according <br /> to Regional Board guidelines summarizing the findings of <br /> the investigation and recommending remedial action <br /> alternatives, as appropriate. The field investigation <br /> will be conducted under the direct supervision of <br /> Russell W. Juncal, CA Registered Geologist No. 3864, who <br /> will review and sign the assessment report. <br /> 4 <br />
