' Quarterly Report - Third Quarter 2004
• Former FISCO WAREHOUSE (Howard Lenz Property)
I1648 Shaw Road, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr.Peter Lenz of Innovative Beverage Brokers,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
(AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 1648 Shaw Road, Stockton,
California. The site and the surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1. Structures, boring, and well
locations are illustrated on Figure 2. Site background information is provided in Appendix A.
2.0. PROCEDURES
Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (EHD) for the sampling of ground water monitoring wells and
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)guidelines for the investigation
of underground storage tank (UST) sites.
2.1. WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
On 28 September 2004, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water
in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8. Wells MW-1 through MW-7 were dry. After recording
the water level measurement in monitoring well MW-8, a Waterra inertia pump with dedicated
tubing was used to purge the well of standing water; approximately 6 gallons of water were purged
from well MW-8 before it was purged dry. Ground water temperature, pH, and conductivity were
measured at regular intervals during the purging using an Oakton water analyzer. Purged water was
stored on-site in labeled, 55-gallon Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved drums. Field
sheets and data are included in Appendix B.
l
2.2. COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
A ground water sample was collected from monitoring well MW-8 using dedicated tubing after
allowing the well to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume. The ground
water sample was transferred into three 40-milliliter (ml) volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials
containing 0.5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid solution as a sample preservative and into one 1-liter amber
bottle without added preservative. After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a
chilled container, and transported under chain of custody to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories
(CTEL),a Department of Health Services-certified analytical laboratory. The ground water samples
were analyzed for:
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
I
