' 10 December 2004
• AGE-NC Project No. 97-0343
' * At the time of the September 2004 sampling event, wells MW-1 through MW-7 were dry.
Depth to ground water in well MW-8 was 62.75 feet below the top of the well casing; ground
water elevation in well MW-8 was calculated to be 34.69 feet below MSL (Table 1).
' • No petroleum hydrocarbons were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the
ground water sample collected from well MW-8.
' • The lateral and vertical extents of the hydrocarbon-impacted ground water appear to be
limited to an isolated dissolved mass above well MW-8, within the wells MW-4 to MW-7,
and within the upper reaches of the upper water table, yet under the depth of the dry well
I casings. The nature of the water table at the site is controlled by the seasonal rise and fall of
the water recharge collection basin, which is possibly interconnected with the volume and
frequency that surface water fills or travels through the Stockton Diverting Canal north of
' the site. The hydrocarbon-impacted soil at the water table may likely be directly impacting
the fluctuating ground water as described above, therefore, soil remediation should cause a
direct reduction in the dissolved plume concentrations.
I
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends
' continued quarterly monitoring of the on-site ground water monitoring wells. The next monitoring
event should be performed in December 2004.
' 6.0. LIMITATIONS
' Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory.Evaluation of the hydrogeologic conditions
' at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of available data
points(e.g.,ground water samples)and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points.
No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made as to the professional interpretations, opinions, and
Irecommendations contained in this report.
I
1
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc.
I
