4
4 March rch 2003
AGE-NC Project No 97-0343
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in
accordance with EPA Method 8015-modified for gasoline and diesel,
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTE&X) and in accordance with EPA
Method 8260B, and
• The fuel additives methyl-tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPS), ethyl-
tertiary butyl ether(ETBE),tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME),tertiary butanol(TBA), 1,2-
dibromoethane(EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method
8260B
3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
05 February 2003 The contaminant impact to ground water was quantified from the laboratory
analytical data
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
At the time of the February 2003 sampling event, depths to ground water in wells MW4 through
MW"' ranged from 56 34 f,et to 57 53 feet below the well heads, ground water elevations ranged
from 31 48 feet below mean sea level (MSL) in well MW5 to 31 57 feet below MSL in well MW7
(Table 1) Ground water elevations at the site increased an average of at least 2 9 feet since the
fourth quarter 2002 monitoring event
' Based on the elevation contours, the ground water flow direction was inferred to be flowing
generally to the northwest at an average hydraulic gradient of 0 001 feet/feet Figure 3 illustrates the
contoured ground water elevations as measured on 05 February 2003
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g,TPH-d,BTE&X and fuel additives were not detected at or above laboratory reporting limits
' in the ground water samples collected from wells MW4 throughMW7
The analytical results of water samples collected in February 2003 are summarized on Table 2 The
laboratory report (CTEL Lab Project No CT214-0302028), QA/QC report and chain-of-custody
. form are included in Appendix C
,advanced GcoEnviron mental,Inc
