I <br />' Soil Vapor Extraction Pilot Test Report <br /> • Former Fisco Warehouse (Howard Lenz Property) <br />' 1648 Shaw Road, Stockton, California <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Peter Lenz of Irmovative Beverage Brokers,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />' (AGE) has prepared this report for the property located at 1648 Shaw Road, Stockton, California <br /> The report documents the procedures and results of an 8-hour soil vapor extraction(SVE)pilot test <br /> Iat the site <br /> The site and the surrounding area are illustrated in Figure 1 On-site structures and well locations <br />' are illustrated on Figure 2 Background information and results of previous investigations at the site <br /> can be found in the AGE-prepared documents,Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan, dated 21 <br /> August 2000 and Monitoring Well Installation and Quarterly Report-First Quarter 2001,dated 23 <br /> March 2001 <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> On 14 January 2002, an 8-hour SVE pilot test was conducted at the site using vapor well VW-2, <br /> I screened from 15 feet below surface grade (bsg) to 35 feet bsg as the extraction well The pilot test <br /> was performed to provide SVE data prior to installation of a full scale remediation system The test <br /> was conducted using a VACLEEN 1000 SVE system,manufactured by Environmental Techniques <br /> The VACLEEN unit consists of a positive-displacement blower, driven by an internal combustion <br /> (IC) engine Propane was used as a supplemental fuel source to start the engine and maintain <br /> performance Hydrocarbon vapor was destroyed as part of the internal combustion process <br /> Emissions from the engine were routed through two catalytic converters to maximize the destruction <br /> rate of the extracted hydrocarbon vapors <br />' All field work procedures and reporting requirements are in accordance with guidelines issued by <br /> the Central Valley Region of the Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for <br /> subsurface investigation of underground storage tank (UST) system sites <br /> 21 SVE PILOT TEST <br /> The pilot test was initiated at 9 00 am and continued for approximately 8 hours An induced vacuum <br /> potential was applied to the casing of vapor well VW-2 The vacuum-induced pressure reduction was <br /> monitored at surrounding observation points (VW-1, VW-3, MW-2, MW-4, MW-5, MW-6 and <br /> MW-7) with air-tight well caps pre-connected with Magnehelic vacuum gauges fitted to each <br /> observation well A sample port was tapped into the PVC near the wellhead and a portable organic <br /> vapor meter equipped with a photo-ionization detector (PID Microtip model 1000 calibrated to <br /> isobutylene) was used to measure organic vapor (OV) concentrations The organic vapor <br /> I <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> f <br />
