Quarterly Report - Second Quarter 2002
Former Fisco Warehouse (Howard Lenz Property)
I1648 Shaw Road, Stockton, California
I1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr.Peter Lenz of Innovative Beverage Brokers,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
(AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 1648 Shaw Road, Stockton,
California. The site and the surrounding area are illustrated in Figure 1. Structures, boring and well
locations are illustrated on Figure 2. Background information is summarized in the AGE-prepared
Preliminary Site Investigation Report, dated 30 December 1997.
2.0. PROCEDURES
' Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (EHD) for the sampling of ground water monitoring wells and
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)guidelines for investigation of
underground storage tank (UST) sites.
• 2.1. WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
Ground water sampling of monitoring wells MW 1 through MW7 was conducted on 31 May 2002.
A Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the seven wells
relative to the tops of the well casings. The ground water elevations and gradient were determined
from these data (Table 1).
After recording water level measurements disposable plastic bailers were used to purge wells MW4
through MW7 of standing water. There was an insufficient amount of ground water in wells MW 1,
MW2 and MW3; subsequently these wells were not purged or sampled.
Approximately 3 to 4 gallons of water (a minimum of 3 casing-water volumes) were purged from
MW4 through MW7. Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular
intervals during purging using an Oakton water analyzer.Purged water was stored on-site in labeled,
I55-gallon DOT-approved drums. Field sheets and data are included in Appendix A.
2.2. COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers. Each
water sample was transferred into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0.5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid
• as a sample preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle without added preservative. After
collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under
Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc.
I
