kn KLEINFELDER
File No.: 20-2314-01ND o
August 10, 1988 AUG
ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH
F ERM IT/SERVICES
Zagaris Management Services
1230 Orangeburg
Modesto, CA 95350
Attention: Mr. Dave von Savoye
Subject: PERCOLATION TESTS
NORTH MORADA ESTATES
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA
Gentlemen:
Presented in this letter are the results of our percolation testing performed
for the North Morada Estates subdivision located between Eight-Mile and
Quashnick Roads just east of Highway 99 in San Joaquin County, California. The
tests performed at this time were a result of failing tests as reported in our
July 11 and 28, 1988 reports. A plot plan and vicinity map showing the approxi-
mate locations of the proposed subdivision and percolation test locations are
presented on Plate I of our July 11, 1988 report.
Six percolation tests were set up on August 3, 1988, by representatives of our
firm. The tests were performed at locations 1, 11, 12, 14, 17 and 20, which are
shown on Plate I of our July 11, 1988 report. The test holes were drilled to
depths of 10 feet and had a diameter of 6 inches. PVC pipe was then inserted
into the test holes and approximately 6 inches of gravel was placed on the soil
surface within the pipe to avoid disturbance of the soil when the water was
poured into the pipe. The test holes were filled with approximately 3 feet of
relatively clean water the day before they were to be performed and left to soak
overnight.
On August 9, 1988, a representative of our firm returned to the site to perform
the percolation tests. The tests were performed according to guidelines
established by San Joaquin County officials. The percolation tests were
measured to have percolation rates of from 1-1/2 to 24 minutes per inch. The
results of the percolation tests are presented on Table I. Copies of the county
approved test sheets are attached to this letter.
KLEINFELDER 2825 East Myrtle Street, Stockton, CA 95205 (209) 948-1345
