"r
9F,MAI
3.0 Plan of Action
IT plans to perform an initial investigation at Pacific Bell site
UE042. After reviewing available site information as well as the
local and regional geology and hydrogeology, the goals of the
initial investigation include the followinrl:
1. Initially identify the later•,i extent of petroleum
hydrocarbons .in the sc; l .
2. Identify whether the groundwater has been impacted by
petroleum hydrocarbons. If an impact of petroleum
hydrocarbons is identified, initially quantify the
concentrations in groundwater.
3. Determine the direction and gradient of the first
saturated zone encountered.
4. Initially characterize the subsurface geology of the
site.
5. Evaluate all results and recommend what further action
at the site may be warranted.
6. Coordinate all field work with Pacific Bell as well as
local and regional regulatory agencies.
To accomplish these goals, IT plans to drill and install three
monitoring wells around the site. All wells will be drilled in
either the street or the side walk (Figure 3 & 4) . The three
wells will be placed up and down gradient of the UST's. Where
applicable, field investigation methods will follow the TRI
-
REGI.ONAL BOARD 9Ti,FF RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PRELIMINARY EVALUATION
AND INVESTIGATION OF UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK SITES, 10 August
1990. The following sections describe the procedures that will
be utilized in completing the investigation.
3-1
