The <br /> PM's specific responsibilities include: <br /> • Ensuring that all project personnel have received a copy of and <br /> have read this HSP; <br /> • Requiring the attendance of all site personnel at a tailgate briefing <br /> prior to performing work, and apprising them of the contents of <br /> this HSP and the specific hazards identified to be present at the site; <br /> • Ensuring that sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE), as <br /> required by this HSP, is available during the project; <br /> • Obtaining all documentation of subcontractor employee <br /> participation in a medical monitoring program and training <br /> program; <br /> • Maintaining a high level of health and safety consciousness among <br /> employees at the facility; and <br /> • Maintaining regular communications with the Site Health and <br /> Safety Officer and, if necessary, resolving health and safety conflicts <br /> with the Director of Health and Safety. <br /> Site Health and Safety Officer <br /> The appointed Site Health and Safety Officer (HSO), David Betts, will be <br /> a member of the ERM project field team. The HSO's responsibilities <br /> include enforcing the requirements of this HSP once work begins. The <br /> HSO has the authority to immediately correct all situations where <br /> noncompliance with this HSP is noted and to immediately stop work <br /> in cases where an immediate danger is perceived. The HSO's specific <br /> responsibilities include: <br /> • Procuring and distributing the PPE and air monitoring <br /> instrumentation needed for the project; <br /> • Verifying that all PPE and health and safety equipment is in good <br /> working order; <br /> • Setting up and maintaining the personnel decontamination facility; <br /> • Controlling site entry of unauthorized personnel; <br /> • Supervising and monitoring the safety performance of all <br /> personnel to ensure that required safety and health procedures are <br /> followed, and correcting any deficiencies; <br /> 6-2 <br />
