The Navy is providing you the opportunity to participate in the RAB and scoping of <br /> the Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study (RI/FS) at Naval Communication <br /> Station(NCS) Stockton in Stockton, California. <br /> 2. The RAB is being established to provide community input during the environmental <br /> restoration. The RAB will be comprised of members of the local community, as well as <br /> representatives of Navy, the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board, and other regulatory and civic agencies. The <br /> RAB is intended to bring together the general public to reflect the community's diverse <br /> interests. Enclosure (1) includes a RAB fact sheet, a RAB application and a map <br /> indicating the location of the RAB introductory meeting. The meeting is scheduled for <br /> October 25, 1994 and will be held in the Stockton Inn. If you are interested in becoming <br /> a RAB member, please complete the attached application and return it to the Navy by <br /> November 11, 1994. <br /> 3. The Navy is also beginning to scope the RI/FS for NCS Stockton. Your input to the <br /> scoping process will assure that appropriate data is collected during the RI/FS to meet <br /> your needs regarding cleanup decisions. The kickoff meeting for scoping the RI/FS will <br /> be held in mid-November at NCS Stockton. The Navy will inform you of the date and <br /> time of the meeting once the schedule is finalized. <br /> 4. The Navy encourages you to become a RAB member and get involve in scoping the <br /> RI/FS. Your participation will enhance the success of the environmental program at NCS <br /> Stockton.
