This reports includes the selection criteria for background wells, and the development <br /> and listing of background data set for inorganic constituents including dissolved metals, anions, and <br /> water quality parameters that can be used during evaluation of Installation Restoration Program (IRP), <br /> and Initial Assessment Study (IAS) sites at NCTS Stockton. <br /> We generally concur with the information presented in this report. Minor comments are provided below: <br /> 1. Section 6.0. Page 37. Second paragraph. The report states, "the chemistry of shallow <br /> groundwater at NCTS Stockton reflects stagnant water of poor quality....". Please expand the <br /> text to further substantiate this statement. Summarize the rationale as to why the water quality is <br /> considered"poor". <br /> 2. Section 6.1. Page 41. Second paragraph, and Page 45. Third paragraph. Replace "Lanthrop" - <br /> with"Lathrop". <br /> 3. Section 6.1. Page 54. Second paragraph.
