Captain Kamrath
Page 2
January 8, 1990
The Department estimates that it will take 51 months to
complete the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study that was
underway at the site on July 1, 1989 . Based on the
Department' s determination that this site is extra large, and
the monthly fee quotient is $3 , 333 . 33 , the prorated fee for
this phase of activity is, therefore, $170, 000.
The new law requires the State Board of Equalization (Board)
to collect the fees established by the Department under the
Act. You may expect to receive a demand from the Board in the
near future based on the fee levels described herein. As each
phase of activity associated with a fee is completed, a fee
demand for the next phase of activity will be sent to you by
the Board. However, as mentioned earlier in this letter, once
a MOU and the DSMOA becomes effective for this site activity,
fees will no longer be assessed. Instead, the Department' s
oversight activities will be reimbursed as specifically
provided in the MOU and the DSMOA.
Please contact Jim Pinasco at (916) 855-7874 if you have any
questions regarding this new program.
Sincerely,
J
Val F.
