WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -4- <br /> GENERAL ORDER FOR LAND DISPOSAL <br /> OF GROUND WATER FROM CLEANUP OF <br /> PETROLEUM FUEL POLLUTION <br /> 3. If the Executive Officer finds that the proposed discharge qualifies <br /> for coverage under this Order, the Discharger shall be issued a <br /> Notification of Applicability statement. Individual dischargers are <br /> not covered by this Order until they have been issued a Notification <br /> of Applicability by the Executive Officer. <br /> B. DISCHARGE PROHIBITIONS <br /> 1 . Discharge of material other than ground water from the investigation <br /> and cleanup of petroleum fuel pollution, or discharge from the <br /> investigation of petroleum fuel pollution where other contaminants <br /> exist in the ground water, is prohibited. <br /> 2. The discharge of wastes or wastewater into any surface water or <br /> surface water drainage course is prohibited. <br /> 3. Creation of pollution, contamination, or nuisance, as defined by <br /> Section 13050 of the California Water Code, is prohibited. <br /> C. EFFLUENT LIMITATIONS <br /> 1. The discharge of an effluent in excess of the following limits is <br /> prohibited: <br /> 30-Day Daily <br /> Constituents Units Median Maximum <br /> Total Petroleum 'Ug/l <50 100 <br /> Hydrocarbons <br /> (3050 GCFID) <br /> EBenzene � <br /> Ethyl Benzene /1 <0.5 5* <br /> Toluene µg/1 <0.5 5* <br /> Xylene Ag/l <0.5 5* <br /> Lead ug/1 5 50 <br /> * The sum of the concentrations of benzene, ethyl benzene, toluene, <br /> and xylene in any single sample shall not exceed 5 ug/l . <br /> 2. The discharge shall not have a pH of less than 6.5 nor greater than <br /> 8.5. <br /> 3. By-pass or overflow of untreated or partially treated wastewater is <br /> prohibited. <br /> 4. The discharge shall remain within the designated disposal area at <br /> all times. <br />
