(707 709-8894 <br /> September 29,2011 <br /> Project A1062-2 <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 600 E.Main Street <br /> Stockton,California 95202 <br /> WORKPLAN <br /> PHASE II ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT <br /> SOIL SAMPLING <br /> Undeveloped Commercial Property <br /> 302 -400 North Sacramento Street <br /> Lodi,California <br /> Adanta is pleased to forward this work plan to San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department to conduct a Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) for soil sampling at the <br /> above noted location (Property). <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Adanta conducted a Phase I ESA for undeveloped lots with addresses between 302 and 400 North <br /> Sacramento Street,Lodi, California(Property),dated August 24,2011. Portions of the Property have <br /> been in industrial use since the 1940s. <br /> The northern portion of the Property was used as an establishment that warehoused and sold <br /> pesticides (airplane applied chemicals) and agricultural supplies from about 1950 until 1999. The <br /> building had a rail spur on the east side for delivering chemicals and other agricultural supplies. It is <br /> possible that spills occurred along the rail spur that may have impacted the environmental quality of <br /> the Property. Soil sampling was conducted by another consultant in 2005, however sampling was <br /> not conducted along the rail spur and soil samples were collected at a greater depth than would <br /> normally be considered adequate to assess possible pesticide spills. <br /> Some of the Property to the south of the chemical warehouse had been used as a wrecking yard, <br /> where cars were stored for many years. In addition, there was a building used for the repair of <br /> automobiles,adjacent to a wreckage yard.The soil sampling report that was previously conducted on <br /> the Property was only for the northern two parcels. The Phase I ESA prepared by Adanta suggests <br />
