21 March 2006
AGE-NC Project No 97-0290
' surrounding ground water investigations to date, there is evidence that PCE-impacted ground water
was detected down-gradient of the site The proximity to the Guild Cleaners site is approximately
750 feet southwest and down-gradient of the Lodi Theater site
' PCE has been detected in water samples collected from the City of Lodi domestic well number
CW-3 (now destroyed), located 1,750 feet southeast of the site, at concentrations up to
' 260 micrograms per liter (gg/l, 09 September 1989) However, other sources of discharged PCE
have been confirmed in close proximity to this well location, including Guild Cleaners, which has
been identified as a confirmed source for soil contamination in the Lodi area
I
5.0. FEASIBILITY ANALYSIS
' An in-situ air sparging and soil vapor extraction pilot test were performed in May 1999 and a ground
water extraction pilot test was performed in July 1999 to examine remedial options for the site The
feasibility analysis was conducted in accordance with SVEIMSPdot Test WorkPlan, dated 18 March
1999, and Ground Water Extraction Test Work Plan, dated 06 July 1999
5 1 IN-SITU AIR SPARGING PILOT TEST
From 10 through 13 May 1999, an in-situ air sparging (IAS) pilot test was performed at the site A
soil vapor extraction pilot test was performed on 13 May 1999 This pilot test was performed to
Iprovide data to evaluate the feasibility of air sparging as a remediation method at the site
52 SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT TEST
On 13 May 1999, an 8-hour soil vapor extraction (SVE) pilot test was conducted at the site,
concurrent with the air sparging test The SVE pilot test was performed to provide vapor extraction
data for feasibility analysis of the remediation method and for proper design of the remediation
system (Appendix A)
53 AQUIFER PUMP TEST
On 15 July 1999, a limited aquifer pump test was performed at the site The depth to ground water
was measured in wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-5, SW-1, SW-2, and VW-IC using a Solinst
water level meter A 2-inch diameter Grundfos submersible pump was lowered into VW-IC
Pressure transducers were then placed in wells VW-1C, SW-1, SW-2, and MW-2 and connected to
Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc
I
