I
' 17 August 1999
AGE-NC Project No 97-0290
' 22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers Each
' water sample was transferred into 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a
sample preservative, and 1-liter amber bottles without sample preservative After collection, the
samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody
' to Alpha Analytical Laboratories (AAL), and were analyzed for
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in accordance with
' EPA Methods 8015 Modified,
• Volatile aromatics benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) in accordance with
' EPA Method 8020,
• Oxygenated compounds di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE),
MTBE, tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME) and tertiary butanol (TBA) in accordance with
' 8260-Modified
23 SURVEYING
' The casing elevation of each vapor extraction and air sparge well installed for the Newfield Property
investigation was surveyed relative to City of Lodi Bench Mark 4 296 On 26 April 2000, a
California state-licensed survey engineer from Baumbach& Piazza, Inc surveyed a reference point
on the top of each ground water monitoring well casings to the nearest 0 01-foot relative to the City
of Lodi Bench Marks and Description at 46 76 feet above mean sea level (msl) The results of the
vapor extraction and air sparge well survey are contained in Table 1 The surveying report
' (Baumbach & Piazza) is presented in Appendix B
3.0. FINDINGS
Ground water flow direction and gradient were inferred from data collected in the field, ground water
I levels were within the screen interval of the wells on the site, the hydrocarbon impact to ground
water was quantified by the laboratory data obtained from the ground water samples
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
rThe depths to ground water ranged from 42 76 feet to 44 82 feet below the tops of the well casings
• on 17 May 2000 Ground water elevations ranged from 4 01 to 4 67 feet above mean sea level
