i01 July 2004
• AGE-NC Project No 02-0950
During this monitoring event, the ground water levels in the wells were at least five feet below the
' tops of the well screens, Indicating that the wells are screened properly to yield representative
shallow ground water samples
' Ground water flow was Inferred to be flowing towards the north-northeast with an average hydraulic
gradient of 0 022 foot/foot,the direction is consistent with the previous monitoring events while the
' gradient steepened slightly Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured
on 21 January 2004
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in the water sample collected from well MW-2 at concentrations
of 17,000 micrograms per liter (µg/1) and 5,900 µg/1, respectively
' Various BTEX compounds were detected In the water samples collected from wells MW-2 and
MW-3 at maximum concentrations of 580µg/1 benzene,4,500µg/1 toluene,2,800µg/1 ethylbenzene
and 10,000 µg/1 xylenes, all from sample MW-2
No other analytes were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples
analyzed The analytical results of the ground water samples collected on 21 January 2004 are
' summarized on Table 2 The laboratory report (CTEL Lab Project No CT214-0401130), QA/QC
report and chain-of-custody form are Included in Appendix D
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes
• TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in sample MW-2, the TPH-g concentration Increased
sharply since the last monitoring event and TPH-d was detected for the first time
• Various BTEX compounds were detected in the water samples collected from well MW-2
' and MW-3 High concentrations of BTEX were detected in MW-2 and were all above each
constituents respective DHS maximum containment levels(MCL),the detections in MW-3
' were below their respective MCLS
• Ground water appears to be defined toward the northeast, down gradient, but not in any other
direction
' Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc
