1 <br />' Quarterly Report - Fourth Quarter 2003 <br />' PREM DOR <br /> 433 West Scotts Avenue, Stockton, California <br />' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> t At the request of Dr Sonya Olbrantz of Masonite International,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br /> (AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 433 West Scotts Avenue, <br /> Stockton, California(site) The site and the surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1 Structures <br />' and boring and well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Background information is summarized <br /> Appendix A Soil and ground water analytical data from the current and previous investigations can <br /> be found in Tables 1 through 6 <br /> 2 0. PROCEDURES <br />' Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the investigation of underground storage tanks <br />' (UST) sites <br />'. 2 1 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY <br />' Four soil borings were advanced on 09, 10 and 16 October 2003 for collection of soil samples and <br /> installation of three ground water monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3) The monitoring <br /> wells were developed on 17 October, and surveyed on 29 October 2003 <br /> I <br /> 2 1 1 Drilling and Sampling <br />' On 09, 10 and 16 October 2003, four soil borings (MW1 through MW3 and B4) were advanced at <br /> the site A CME-75HT truck mounted drill ng or a CME-75 limited access drill ng were utilizing <br />' to advance 8 25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers to the total depth of each boring The drill ngs <br /> and three-man crew were supplied by Cascade Dnllmg Corporation Auger returns generated by <br /> drilling were containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved model 17H 55-gallon drums and was <br />' stored on-site <br /> Soil samples were collected ahead of the drill bit using a California modified split-spoon sampler <br /> loaded with three pre-cleaned 2-inch by 6-inch brass sleeves The samples were collected from the <br /> pilot borings at 5-foot intervals, beginning at 5 feet below surface grade (bsg), using a 140-pound <br /> hammer to advance the sampler The number of blows required to advance the sampler over each <br />' 6-inch increment of the 18-inch sampling interval was recorded on the boring logs After sample <br /> . recovery,both ends of the second or other selected sleeve were covered with Teflon sheets, capped <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
