0
Four sites have had directives issued to conduct a vapor intrusion evaluation or soil gas
investigation to address the final concern holding up closure consideration:
• 2315 N. California Street
• 466 E. Moffat Boulevard
• 2353 Toste Road
• 15 E. Grant Line Road.
One site has had additionalinvestigation conducted to be sure the plume has been
properly delineated; a report of findings has not yet been submitted. With favorable
results the closure process will be initiated:
• :106 Second Street.
r
One site has an approved work plan to perform soil vapor extraction on one well to
reduce a localized contaminant mass, but that work has not yet been implemented:
• 3400 Newton Road.
One site has been undergoing rebound testing following a groundwater extraction pilot
test:
• 15406 Tracy Boulevard.
While the latter seven sites pose the greater closure challenges at this time, barring any
surprises, none is expected to require significantly more work or investigation. With the
exception of the 466 E. Moffat Boulevard site, our estimated time to complete the
closures for these sites varied from "6 to 9 months" to 12 months, in the response to Bob
Trommer. The Moffat site estimate was 3 to 6 months. Although my timeframe
estimates may be off for some sites, I believe that with timely responses by the RPs and i
their consultants, coupled with favorable results, we should be able to get these sites
closed this year. I will keep you informed of progress and problems.
I
I
