San Joaquin County Council of Governments
Member Agencies:Cities of Escalon,Lathrop,Lodi,Manteca,Ripon,Stockton,Tracy,County of San Joaquin
May 25, 1994
Mr. Richard Larrouy
SJ Co. Community Development
1810 E. Hazelton Ave i
Stockton, CA 952057 1994
RE: SA-94-23/ Hay Hauling Business l ;
Lodi Lind's Airport PLANNING 00119_ 01N
Dear Mr. Larrouy:
Thank you for submitting the above-referenced proposal to the San Joaquin County
Airport Land Use Commission for review and comment. State law requires that
land uses within airport areas of influence conform with the Airport Land Use Plan
(ALUP).
The site approval application proposes a hay hauling business to be located on the
north side of Jahant Road, 1600 feet east of State Route 99, northeast of Lodi.
The proposed site is located within Lodi Lind's Airport's Transitional Zone. (Please
refer to the enclosed GIS map.)
According to the ALUP, no land use which would result in a density of greater than
25 persons in any one acre at any one time is permitted in this zone. This
restriction is based on safety considerations for both aircraft and persons in the
vicinity of the runway. Land uses which would attract birds, present visual
distractions to pilots, or interfere with aircraft communications or navigation are
also strictly prohibited.
Based on the type of use proposed for this site, this project would not be
prohibited in the ALUP. However, all of the standards regarding non-reflective
materials, transmissions, and power line undergrounding which apply to other
zones also apply to development in the transitional zone.
If there are questions regarding these comments, please call me or Debbie Hale.
Sincerely,
Lara DeLaney
Assistant Regional Planner
Regional Transportation Planning Agency,Local Transportation Authority,Congestion Management Agency,Airport Land Use Commission
102 South San Joaquin Street,4th Floor 0 P.O.
