Seventh St <br /> Lathrop, CA 95330 <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> Division (PHS-EHD) has reviewed both the "Quarterly Groundwater <br /> Sampling Report, September, 1994" and the "Remedial Excavation <br /> Work Plan" (Plan) and has the following comments . <br /> PHS-EHD considers this Plan an interim activity and as such, <br /> wishes to inform you that a Final Remediation Plan (Corrective <br /> Action) should conform to current Underground Tank Regulations <br /> specified in Title 23 , Chapter 16 , Article 11, section 2725 (f) (2) <br /> of the California Code of Regulations . <br /> Sites with documented groundwater contamination shall utilize <br /> detection limits listed within the Tri-Regional Guidelines for <br /> both Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) and BTEX analyses . In all <br /> future monitoring reports, detections limits of 50 . 0 ug/1 shall <br /> be used for TPH groundwater samples and 0 . 5 ug/1 shall be used <br /> for BTEX groundwater samples . Please direct your laboratory to <br /> utilize EPA Method 8015 modified with GC/FID (5030 purge and trap <br /> preparation) on all groundwater samples to be analyzed for TPH as <br /> gasoline . <br /> Laboratory analyses submitted with incorrect detection limits or <br /> unclear methodology will not be accepted by PHS-EHD and the <br /> sampling event will need to be repeated in order to be in <br /> compliance . <br /> Over-excavation and soil sampling shall be under the witness of <br /> PHS-EHD personnel and the number and location of samples shall be <br /> determined by field conditions and the decision of PHS-EHD since <br /> no sampling map was submitted. <br /> Rinse water from decontamination processes shall be containerized <br /> and based upon final disposition, shall either be hauled as <br /> hazardous waste under manifest or sampled under witness of <br /> PHS-EHD for self certification as non-hazardous . <br /> The detection limit for TPH as gasoline for soil samples shall be <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services <br />
