B-9 hottest EVER and id's problem at eastern edge, center of property.(see Nov 29,2001 entry)
July 2,2001: r
SOIL: TPHg&BENZENE SOIL= DEFINED. (LATERAL AND VERTICAL BY 9/26/00 INSTALLATION OF MW-5,6,7,AND 8).
MtBE:SOIL=ONLY SLIGHT MtBE IN TWO(25'&30'bgs)SAMPLES IN MW-5=22 mg/kg and 19 mg/kg,respectively and=ND FROM 35'BGS IN
MW-5. MtBE VERTICAL SOIL DELINEATION ESTABLISHED...MtBE LATERAL SOIL INVESTIGATION NEEDED SW.
GW: TPHg&BENZENE= DEFINED LATERALLY IN SOUTH,WEST,SOUTHEAST,AND NORTH. NEED LATERAL DELIN IN NW,NE,AND E.
MtBE=NOT DEFINED.. MW-3 HOTTEST AT 20 ug/I.
GRADIENT SHIFT TO NW TWO QMR NOW...No MW in NW area of site. WP FOR 5 CPTs OK'd 5-24-01. No MW IN THIS PHASE.
Nov 29,2001:3 more soil borings(B-5 center of site,B-6 northwest,and B-9 east edge,center)all to TD=50'for soil samples and to 55',55',and 50'bgs
respectively for groundwater grabs. Findings in QMR-4th-2001 by AGE dated April 22,2002.
SOIL= ALL B-5 and B-6 soils are NO for TPHg,BTEX and MtBE. B-6 NO delineates soil in NW quad. B-5 delineates soil in center for Vertical.
B-9=hottest @ 20'bgs.TPHg=630 mg/kg and hottest B=0.32 mg/kg. MtBE in soils=ND @ 0.005 mg/kg.
GW: B-6 ND for ALL delineates NW quad for petroleum. B-9 @ 25'bgs=TPHg @ 270,000 ugA...I B=1,900 ug/I @25'in B-9.
B-9 @50'bgs=TPHg @ 710 ug/I and B=<0.5 ugA. MtBE=<5.0 ug/I also.
NOTE!: with B-9 hottest onsite and TO max at 50'bgs and still significant TPHg=no vertical delineation, although declining trend noted, !
and since on extreme EASTERN edge of site, NO LATERAL GW delineation either.(both B-9 and MW-1 on eastern edge of
property and both have results>MCLs for B and MTBE and B-9=TPHg>270,000 and MW-1 TPHg=8,200 ug/I in QMR-1st-2002
sampling event 3-13-02. Worst yet, gradient TO WEST? could=source problems? or gradient interpretations-)
7-25-02: QMR 1st-2002. MWS on 3-13-02. DTW/MW-1=13.00'. GWG varies NW to SW @ 0.00371t to 0.006711. MtBE highest in MW-1 and
equally in MW-5 @ 110 ug/I. MW-3,just SW of both wells has MtBE=10 ug/I. MtBE also not delineated to East. MW-1 reported TPHg
at 8,200 ug/I and Benzene at 300 ug/I. MW-5 reported TPHg at 220 ug/I and Benzene at<0.5 ug/l.
CONCLUSION: all but EAST delineated.
RECOMMENDATION: MW needed east side.
