Harlin#33
Lathrop, California, 95330
Subject: Site Status Update/Suspension of Investigation
LANGSTON'S MARKET
15615 South 7" Street, Lathrop, California
Dear Mr. Langston:
As part of the ongoing assessment at 1561.5 South 7'Street,Lathrop,California(the site),Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) performed a ground water monitoring and sampling event on 16
March 1999 and additional soil and groundwater assessment utilizing direct push technology(DPT)
on 16 April 1999. Throughout the assessment, an outstanding balance with AGE has steadily
accumulated. SEMCO, your representative for payment of services for the site, has failed to make
timely payments. Until this balance was paid in full, AGE stopped performing investigation work
at the site, including the release of analytical results or the preparation of reports. E
In a telephone conversation on 02 May 2000,Mr.Michael Infurna of the San Joaquin County Public
Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) indicated that any future delays in
work progress at the site could result in disqualification from the Underground Storage Tank
Cleanup Fund(USTCF).
Presently, the PHS-EHD has directed the resumption of quarterly ground water monitoring and
reporting as well as the preparation of a work plan detailing the next scope of work. Quarterly
monitoring and reporting is to commence immediately;the work plan is to be completed by 30 June
2000.
In order to ensure no future work delays at the site, AGE will request 50% deposit for all future k
investigation and remediation services. The balance payment for all such services will be due and.
payable within 30 days of billing.Any late payments will accrue interest aft=er 30 days and will delay
completion of work.
AGE is preparing a cost estimate for resumption of quarterly ground watermonitoring and reporting
and the installation of additional ground water monitoring wells.
4005 North Wilson Wny,. 5tocklon.
