On .lune 11, 2008, the Fund <br /> received Reimbursement Request#18, which included an invoice dated May 22, 2008, <br /> in the amount of$52,352.50 for purchase of a DPE unit. The Fund approved these <br /> costs and reimbursed you the purchase price on October 6, 2008. 1 <br /> On April 23, 2009, a meeting was held at the office of the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department to discuss the status of the approved remedial action. <br /> During the meeting, it was determined that the remedial plan had not been implemented <br /> due to the costs involved and no progress towards remediation had been made. As a <br /> result; the County directed that a Feasibility Study be completed to evaluate other <br /> remedial options. Your consultant provided a Feasibility Study report on June 29, 2009, <br /> which stated that due to site conditions and financial constraints ground water extraction <br /> would not be further evaluated as a feasible remediation alternative.. Therefore, the <br /> reimbursement of the DPE unit is considered an overpayment. <br /> In order to rectify this matter, you must comply within 30 calendar days-from the date of <br /> this letter by,repaying the Fund $52,352.50.
