MW-3 Is still well outside the zone of the vadose zone contamination contributed by the <br /> leaking tank, thus no contamination is found in the sample collected from a depth of 15 <br /> feet The location of MW-3 however appears to be near, but within the eastern edge of <br /> the plume of groundwater contamination, hence the BTEX contamination found in the soil <br /> ' sample collected from a depth of 1$ feet can be attributed torou <br /> g ndwater flow The <br /> presence of both gasoline and BTEX contamination found in the 10 foot sample however, <br /> can probably be attributed to the location of MW-3, situated immediately adjacent acent to the <br /> former pump island and associated piping.
