16475 TIDE ROAD Project No.2019-00072 Page 18
6.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Our office concludes that the proposed project will not likely cause a build-up of nitrates
above the background groundwater concentration of 10 mg/L total nitrogen in the ground
water. However, based on the nitrate loading calculation (above the 10 mg/L-N), annual
sampling and submission of sampling results to the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department for groundwater from the domestic well onsite, once install, is
recommended, and will be required by the SJC EHD.
Currently, no mitigation measures are recommended. Mitigation measures may be
recommended/required by EHD at further date. To mitigate potential buildup of nitrate in
the aquifer, measures should be utilized which improve retention time and digestion within
the septic and/or improvement of conditions within the leach field, such as utilization of a
filter bed system.
7.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed, our findings obtained, and our conclusions
proposed in accordance with generally accepted engineering principles and practices.
