Three soil borings were advanced on January 2 and 3, 2008 by V & W Drilling, Lodi,
California. Figure 6 depicts the location of the soil borings. Drilling was conducted under the
direction of a California certified engineering geologist who logged the borings in accordance
with the convention of the:Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) (Table 1). Table 2
presents a tabulation of the soil borings drilled and sampled as well as a rationale for placement
and summary of results.
Logs of the individual soil borings are presented in Appendix 4.
I
A total of forty one (41) soil samples were collected from the three soil borings. All of the soil
samples were analyzed by'Kiff Analytical LLC, Davis; California. A groundwater grab sample
was collected from each of the soil borings. In addition, one groundwater sample was collected
from the ST&E dometic water supply well. Analytical laboratory reports are presented in
Appendix 6.
A sensitive receptor survey investigation was conducted.during February and March, 2008. This
survey identified that privately owned domestic water supply wells were the primary potential
sensitive receptors. A total of 39 wells were identified in-the search area and are tabulated on
Table 5. Figure 14 depicts the locations of these wells.
The nearest water supply well belongs to ST&E and is located on site, about 300 feet west of the
I former UST. This well has been sampled in January 2008 and was found to contain no petroleum
a
hydrocarbon compounds.
I
4
i
i
i
Environmental\STE\PARSCR09102008.wpd 11
r
